Warner Bros. is capitalizing on the crazy popular HBO TV show Westworld by releasing it as a mobile title of the same name. Produced by the company’s WB Games through a collaboration with Kilter Films, the game was developed by Behaviour Interactive and will be released next month for iOS and Android devices.
Here’s a bit about the game from its official website:
“As a new Delos employee, learn to control Westworld. From bloody sunrises to romantic sunsets, you’ll pair Guests with Hosts, fulfilling their wildest dreams from the shadows. Because in a world ruled by desire, everyone has a role to play. Including you.”
Through gameplay, players will be able to run the Western sci-fi theme park from behind the scenes. It’s unclear exactly how much like the TV show the mobile Westworld will be. I can imagine the mobile game will be toned down a bit, seeing as the show has some incredibly mature content, including graphic sex and violence.
“This game is an opportunity to give mobile gamers a fresh and exciting way to interact with the engrossing themes and enigmatic narrative explored by the Westworld series,” said Jonathan Knight, Vice President and Studio Head at WB Games San Francisco, in a statement. “We can’t wait for fans to get their hands on the game to develop their own unique strategy to orchestrate and explore the perfect park experience.”
More details on the Westworld mobile game are available on its official website, and additional information should come over the next weeks. For now, you can pre-register on the same website by giving your e-mail address. By pre-registering, you will “get special rewards, including early access to the Lawrence Host Code and other cool offers,” according to the site.
