Where Winds Meet’s Hutuo anniversary update arrives on Xbox Series X|S on November 13 (PT), bringing a new war-torn campaign centered on the Battle of Zhongdu Bridge. The official announcement also details new board-game modes, anniversary rewards and a martial art arriving later in the month.
Set against the game’s tenth-century China backdrop, the Hutuo campaign depicts the fallout of a sixteen-year conflict and a frontline defense at Zhongdu Bridge. That gives the update a clear narrative focus: the consequences of a prolonged war, alongside the battle to hold the bridge.
Away from that frontline, Hutuo introduces Horse Racing Chess and Jianghu Tactics, two board-game modes. The combat additions follow a separate schedule: the Dual Spears martial art arrives on November 26, with Yuen Woo-ping having led its motion capture and choreography. Players looking specifically for that fighting style should keep the later date in mind rather than the anniversary update’s arrival.
On the technical side, the Xbox Series X|S version supports Smart Delivery, HDR and AMD FSR 2 upscaling, alongside an updated interface with larger text. Where Winds Meet also supports cross-play across Xbox, PS5, PC and mobile, as listed on its Xbox store page.
The anniversary events include gifts valued in the announcement at more than $150: a free Outfit Set choice, 42 Resonating Melody draws and 27 Lingering Melody draws. The game also offers in-app purchases.
