Team Vitality and Paris Saint-Germain have continued their PSG.Vitality partnership for another year in EA FC 27, signing Dutch player Levi de Weerd and Italian player Lucio “HHezerS” Vecchione. The details come from Discord, as relayed by Insider Gaming in its roster interview.
The signings are a first for both organisations: neither had previously fielded non-French FC/FIFA professionals. PSG and Vitality considered French and international players before choosing the new recruits, making this a change in the roster’s national makeup rather than a recruitment process that excluded French talent.
Team Vitality CEO Fabien “Neo” Devide described international recruitment as a natural part of competing at the highest level and strengthening Vitality’s position on the global esports stage. That frames the move as a competitive decision, rather than simply an effort to give the partnership a broader international identity.
The new recruits join a project that finished second in the eLigue 1 regular season during its inaugural campaign. PSG.Vitality also competed in the FC Pro World Championship at the Esports World Cup that season, giving the partnership international competition experience before this recruitment shift.
Paris Saint-Germain says its investment in esports began in 2016. For the joint PSG.Vitality project, though, the stated priority remains EA SPORTS FC and competing for major titles.
