Modern Warfare 4’s beta feedback is already shaping Infinity Ward’s priorities ahead of launch. Kotaku reported that the studio said it would adjust time to kill and spawning in response to player feedback, targeting two systems central to multiplayer match flow.
A limited look at the launch lineup
The beta included three of the 12 maps planned for release, giving players an early but limited sample of the full multiplayer offering.
Infinity Ward’s planned changes focus on how quickly players are eliminated and where they return to the action. Both elements directly shape the rhythm of a match: time to kill determines the length of combat encounters, while spawning controls how players re-enter the battlefield after being taken out.
The studio’s response makes those areas key points to watch as Modern Warfare 4 moves toward release.
Movement returns to the ground
This entry also scales back some of Call of Duty’s more acrobatic movement mechanics. Wall jumping and Black Ops-style omnimovement have been reduced in favour of a more grounded slide.
That shift gives Modern Warfare 4 a different movement profile, placing less emphasis on aerial manoeuvres while retaining sliding as a traversal option.
Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled to arrive in October. It will be current-generation only and will also release for Switch 2.
