A leaked GTA 6 clip titled “Gas” connects an NPC scene to a real-world internet prank. The footage follows Jason driving through a residential neighborhood to a gas station, where the background character references a viral video involving a man apparently trying to fill his truck bed with fuel.
Detailed by Kotaku, the sequence moves from an ordinary neighborhood drive to a specific joke rooted in a widely shared gas-station clip.
The real clip behind the reference
The original video was posted in 2021, following the Colonial Pipeline hack. It showed a man attempting to pump fuel directly into the exposed bed of his truck at a gas station.
The footage spread as a viral clip, but the incident was later debunked. Rather than documenting a genuine attempt to transport gasoline in a truck bed, it was a staged stunt.
How “Gas” uses the prank
The leaked GTA 6 footage places its reference at the destination of Jason’s drive. After travelling through the residential area, he reaches the gas station where the NPC evokes the same truck-bed setup from the staged video.
That gives the leak’s title a direct connection to both its location and the NPC gag shown there.
Does this specific gas-station prank make for an effective NPC reference in GTA 6?
