IO Interactive has confirmed that 007 First Light will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on March 18, 2027, with pre-orders now open. The studio’s official announcement pins down the previously announced March release window and arrives alongside a new gameplay trailer showing the game running on Nintendo’s hardware.
The Switch 2 version had originally been expected in the summer. Roughly a month before this release-date announcement, IO Interactive delayed it to an unspecified date in March, saying the additional development time was needed to ensure the quality of experience players expect. Today’s news supplies a firm day within that window rather than announcing another delay.
Optimisation remains part of the work ahead. IO Interactive says its development team will spend the coming months continuing to refine optimisation and performance on Switch 2. That makes the new trailer a look at the version while that work continues, rather than a reason to treat its technical polish as finished.
The studio also brought hands-on builds of 007 First Light to gamescom and Tokyo Game Show, and says player response was positive. That assessment comes from IO Interactive itself, rather than an independent verdict on the Switch 2 release.
Pre-orders for the Switch 2 version are available through the Nintendo Store, Amazon.com and selected retailers. The Deluxe Edition, which went up for pre-order alongside the date announcement, includes extra in-game clothes and gadgets and carries suggested retail prices of $69.99, €69.99 and £69.99.
