Guild Wars 2 has simplified access to its Living World storyline. Season 2 is now free with the base game and available to players with a level-80 character, while Seasons 3 through 5 have been folded into their associated expansions.
Living World Seasons 3 and 4 are now included with the Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire bundle. Anyone who already owns those expansions will automatically have any missing episodes from both seasons unlocked. Season 5, The Icebrood Saga, is similarly included with End of Dragons, with missing episodes automatically unlocked for existing owners.
That also means Living World seasons are no longer available as individual purchases. They are now either free to all players or included with expansions—a considerably cleaner arrangement than requiring separate episode purchases.
The wider Guild Wars 2 bundles have been reorganized alongside the change. The updated Elder Dragon Saga bundle contains Heart of Thorns, Path of Fire, End of Dragons, and Living World Seasons 3, 4, and 5. A new Astral Ward Saga bundle packages Secrets of the Obscure, Janthir Wilds, and Visions of Eternity.
The Starter Pack now comes with a Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic, five Teleport to Friend devices, and two Black Lion Chest Keys. Previous Starter Pack purchasers will receive those additions through in-game mail.
Accounts that purchased Living World content after September 12, 2026 will automatically receive gems equal to the content’s value. Applicable Elder Dragon Saga—Complete Collection purchases will receive partial refunds. Players still missing a refund or their added Starter Pack items by October 15 should contact support.
