Microsoft has revealed that the latest WWE game is now free-to-play this weekend. Anyone with a Xbox Live Gold membership will be able to download and play the game. This offer seems to be exclusive for Xbox Live Gold members only so other gamers won’t be able to access it.

The free weekend begun yesterday on the 29th and will be running until Monday April 3rd. Microsoft has confirmed that the entire game will be open in the free weekend. This includes the multiplayer section of the game and players will be able to explore the online modes with their friends.

Players will also be able to check out the Creation Suit that allows players to create their own wrestlers. All progress made during the free weekend has been confirmed to be carried forwards to the full game. So players won’t need to worry about having to re-create their characters if they decide to purchase the game.

As to be expected, WWE 2K17 is currently on sale at a 50% discount. This discount also seems to be exclusive to Xbox Live Gold members and can be in the store or on the Xbox website. The deal takes the game down from its usual $60 price tag and lowers it to $30. This discount will only be available for a short period of time. Gamers looking to take advantage of the sale should do so quickly.

The official blog post from Microsoft also confirms that all Gamerscore and Achievements earned will be kept. This means that all progress made during the free weekend will be carried forwards to the full game.

Anyone with the Xbox Live Gold subscription should be able to download the game for free from their dashboard. If not, it can be downloaded directly from the Xbox Store.
