Khezu is joining Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance. Capcom confirmed the returning monster during a stage event at its Tokyo Game Show 2026 booth on September 19.
The reveal adds a familiar Monster Hunter creature to the expansion’s confirmed lineup. For now, Capcom has not detailed Khezu’s role, location, encounter timing, or any mechanics tied to its appearance, so the announcement is strictly confirmation that the monster will appear.
That distinction also applies to its arrival window. Capcom has not said whether Khezu will be included when Ascendance launches or added later, and a release date for the expansion itself was not stated alongside the reveal.
What Capcom has confirmed is how players will qualify for access. Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance requires ownership of the Monster Hunter Wilds base game, rather than functioning as a standalone release.
Hunters will also need to complete the base game’s 7-star assignment, “Awaking From a Dream,” before they can enter the expansion. That requirement gives current players a concrete preparation target even though the expansion’s release schedule remains unannounced.
Capcom is currently directing players to wishlist Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance. Khezu’s confirmation is narrow but definitive: the familiar monster will stretch its way into the expansion, while further details about the hunt will have to come later.
