Faraday Blues made its world premiere during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show Broadcast, revealing a surreal science-fiction adventure built around fractured family history and timeline manipulation. It is planned for release in 2027 on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with Xbox Cloud support.
Players control Lina, a daughter searching for parents who do not know she exists. After awakening in an unfamiliar place, she attempts to change their tragic lives by resetting a tabletop board.
That board is governed by a 52-card deck. Its cards represent characters, memories, items, and pieces of the Faraday family’s past. Players can place character cards into conversations, locations, and major events to change timelines.
Those interventions can change relationships, memories, possessions, and character states, with the consequences carrying forward into later portions of the story. The interesting detail here is not simply that decisions branch. The announced structure suggests players will manipulate the conditions surrounding decisions, then discover how that revised context reshapes subsequent events.
The story spans three interconnected visual-novel realities, each set during a different era of the Faraday family. Choices made in earlier realities affect later ones, giving the card system a broader purpose than unlocking alternate scenes: players are effectively rewriting the foundation inherited by each following timeline.
There are 64 endings to uncover, but Faraday Blues is not presenting them as 64 varieties of success. Some outcomes count as victories, while most do not, making experimentation potentially as dangerous as it is necessary. With its board-reset premise, persistent consequences, and three linked realities, Lina’s search is shaping up as a family tragedy where finding a different ending and finding a happy one are very different problems.
