Injustice 2

The first details of NetherRealm Studios’ Injustice 2’s special editions have been revealed, along with a new story trailer. According to its preorder page, the superhero fighting game will have three versions: Standard Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition, and Ultimate Edition.

With the Digital Deluxe Edition, Supergirl can transform into Power Girl with a special premier skin. Three unnamed DLC fighters and a gear shader pack called Defender are included with this edition as well.

The Ultimate Edition comes with nine DLC fighters and three premier skins: the aforementioned Power Girl skin, Reverse-Flash for Flash, and John Stewart’s Green Lantern for Green Lantern. These skins give the characters “new looks, voices, and dialogue.” The Ultimate Edition also includes two gear shader packs, Destroyer and Defender.

There is no indication of who the DLC fighters will be, but we’ll keep you updated with information as it is announced.

Injustice 2 is getting pretty heavy with the preorder bonuses. Darkseid was recently added to the roster of playable characters, but only if you preorder. However, it’s likely Darkseid will become playable later for other players as a DLC, as NetherRealm has done so in other games.

A new story trailer for Injustice 2 was posted yesterday. Called “The Lines Are Redrawn,” the video shows Batman trying to put society back together in the aftermath of the first game while battling various DC heroes and villains.

“The line between hero and villain has become blurred as the most epic battle in the DC universe rages on in Injustice 2,” the video description says. “While Batman has emerged the victor in his battle against the Regime, a new threat arises and poses the ultimate threat to Earth.”

Injustice 2 hits shelves May 16th for PS4 and Xbox One. Are you joining the battle?

Mischa grew up with video games and still has a deep love for many - especially fun, colorful RPGs. Some of her favorites include Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Fantasy Life, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, Civilization V, and Stardew Valley. She loves nights in with her boyfriend cooking Mexican food, watching Studio Ghibli movies, and going head-to-head in their favorite games. Mischa might not beat you in Super Smash Bros, but she owns a replica of Arwen’s sword and Hermione’s wand, so... don’t rub it in too much.
