IGTAP: an Incremental Game That’s Also a Platformer has received Hotfix #2, combining a substantial late-game balance pass with a notable movement change: omni-dash is now optional rather than mandatory.
The omni-dash box now functions as a toggle. Players can select the moveset that includes omni-dash at the cost of one jump, or return to their previous moveset. That choice matters because the update does not simply remove or weaken the mechanic—it lets players decide which movement configuration they prefer.
The other major adjustment targets progression. A large number of late-game upgrades have had either their costs or scaling factors reduced. The official announcement does not identify every affected upgrade or quantify those reductions, but the overall direction is clear: Hotfix #2 softens parts of the endgame upgrade curve.
One specific upgrade has also changed position. The +1 double-jump upgrade previously sat at the end of its upgrade tree; it has now been moved into the middle. In practical terms, that places the additional jump earlier in that branch of progression rather than reserving it for the tree’s endpoint.
The interesting part is how the movement and economy changes complement each other. Players opting into omni-dash must still accept the associated one-jump reduction, but moving the double-jump upgrade earlier provides earlier access to another mobility improvement. That does not erase the trade-off, though it changes when one of the game’s movement upgrades becomes available.
Hotfix #2 is consequently more than a numbers-only rebalance. It gives players direct control over omni-dash, repositions a meaningful movement upgrade, and reduces costs or scaling across numerous late-game upgrades—a targeted pass on both how IGTAP controls and how its endgame progression is priced.
