Geoplanetical’s developer plans to ease back from near-daily patches, moving to updates a few times a week — or less often when a larger update needs testing. The change is intended to give players more time with a stable version while leaving more room to prepare larger, more complete improvements.
In the official Steam announcement, the developer explained that updates have arrived almost every day since release, sometimes more than twice in a single day. That rapid pace was intended to fix issues quickly and respond to player feedback during the first days of Early Access.
But that frequency has its own costs. The developer said frequent version changes can be difficult for the community to follow, particularly for modders who must repeatedly adapt their work. The planned shift addresses both sides of that problem: players get longer stretches between patches, while development gets more time for work that needs testing before release.
The important distinction is between a slower patch cadence and a halt to development. Geoplanetical remains in Early Access, and work will continue; the developer says its successful launch has made long-term development of the project possible.
