EA has brought 25 games from its vault to Steam for the first time, with the lineup also available through GOG and the EA App. Seven of those games have received restorations, pairing quality-of-life updates with higher-resolution full-motion videos sourced from master tapes and optimizations for modern hardware.
The standout detail in EA’s official announcement concerns Wing Commander and Wing Commander II: 35th Anniversary Editions. Their Kilrathi Saga versions are integrated directly into the installations and are available digitally for the first time — a specific addition beyond simply bringing the games to another storefront.
Those Kilrathi Saga versions include digital music and sound, a re-orchestrated soundtrack, and optional drop-away cockpit support. Modern-system optimizations include frame rates up to 60 FPS, native controller support, windowed mode and cloud saves. That combination puts attention on how these versions play and sound, rather than relying on higher-resolution video alone.
EA says both 35th Anniversary Editions were restored with support from the Wing Commander community. The distinction matters across the wider release: this is a 25-game vault lineup with seven restorations, not a claim that all 25 have received the same upgrades.
For anyone looking to pick them up, all 25 games have special pricing on Steam and GOG from November 5 — 19.
