Road Rash: 30th Anniversary Edition has rock music enabled by default during races, with its official FAQ and known-issues announcement also confirming modern controller support and flagging an occasional Steam Deck crash after FMV playback.
Getting the music relicensed took substantial work: EA Worldwide Music spent more than a year working with the music label and artists. That previously announced effort provides the backdrop to the FAQ’s practical detail — the rock soundtrack is switched on for races without players needing to enable it.
The edition supports modern Xbox controllers alongside DualSense and DualShock controllers. Its Extras folders also contain scanned printed documents, adding archival material alongside the game.
There’s an important distinction for anyone moving between devices: Cloud Saves are supported, but autosave is not. Cloud support lets players continue their progress on another device; it should not be mistaken for the game automatically recording that progress. Steam Deck players also need to account for the documented issue that can occasionally cause a crash after an FMV video plays.
Multiplayer retains a more specific piece of the original setup. The old modem and internet service was shut down decades ago, but Mano a Mano LAN play remains intact.
