According to Eurogamer, Square Enix isn’t planning to release a new Deus Ex game any time soon.

The report states that the publisher has made this decision partly due to the poor sales from Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. The other main reason for this decision is the focus being placed on the upcoming Marvel games.

As a result, the Deus Ex series has now been placed on hiatus. While the game series is on hiatus, the game didn’t resolve all of the storylines and another game was originally expected to be released to complete the story. It looks as though this won’t happen now. While there may not be another game, it’s possible that a graphic novel will be released that covers these plot lines.

The development studio behind the last Deus Ex game is now working on the next Tomb Raider game. A leak from last year suggests that the new game will be called “Shadows of the Tomb Raider”. However, this hasn’t been confirmed.

Meanwhile, Square Enix has placed it’s focus on the new Marvel deal for multiple games. The first game to be teased from this deal is a game focused on the Avengers. While the publisher has already teased the game, there will be no more news about it until 2018. It seems unlikely that this game will be released that year considering how new this deal is.

Other Marvel games will also be coming in the future however, Square Enix hasn’t confirmed anything just yet.

Now that Final Fantasy XV has been released, Square Enix seems to be focusing entirely on the new Marvel deal. For now, the only known game is the upcoming Avengers orientated game. More news about this should be released at a later date and we will update you with the latest news.
