His name is Polar, and he’s now in polished 4K resolution.

In some new PS4 gameplay footage, Activision shows off the shiny HD version of Crash’s rideable bear companion, Polar. The short video of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, below, shows Crash hopping on Polar and running through part of a dangerous, snowy level.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is a remaster of the first three Crash games: Crash Bandicoot, Cortex Strikes Back, and Warped. Crash’s cuddly polar bear pal was originally featured in Cortex Strikes Back, though he shows up in Warped as well. We expect to see Polar back in all his original levels.

This remaster keeps the original level designs in tact while completely reworking the graphics and adding in a handful of new features. You can look forward to a unified checkpointing and save system, full analog stick support, collectible relics, and improved bonus levels and time trials, among others.

The N. Sane Trilogy is being developed by Vicarious Visions, though Naughty Dog handled the originals. The game is a PS4 exclusive for now; it’s even been enhanced for 4K and the PS4 Pro.

PlayStation Ireland has hinted that the remaster might make it’s way to other consoles, as they tweeted “[N. Sane Trilogy] will be coming to PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro first.”

So have hope, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC gamers. Your beloved bandicoot and his polar bear pal might come crashing into your platform this summer. We’ll keep you updated on the latest.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy hits shelves June 30th, 2017.

Mischa McGill

Mischa grew up with video games and still has a deep love for many - especially fun, colorful RPGs. Some of her favorites include Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Fantasy Life, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, Civilization V, and Stardew Valley. She loves nights in with her boyfriend cooking Mexican food, watching Studio Ghibli movies, and going head-to-head in their favorite games. Mischa might not beat you in Super Smash Bros, but she owns a replica of Arwen’s sword and Hermione’s wand, so... don’t rub it in too much.
