Xbox is reportedly preparing a Platinum-style reward for achievement hunters. According to Insider Gaming’s account of a TrueAchievements report, players will earn a Mythic Achievement after unlocking every achievement in a game’s base set.
Achievements introduced later through DLC or title updates reportedly will not be required. That distinction should prevent a completed game from losing its Mythic status whenever additional content arrives. Mythics also will not add to a player’s Gamerscore, according to Insider Gaming, making them a separate completion marker rather than another source of points.
The feature reportedly will work retroactively across all games with achievements once it launches. If the system operates as described, existing completionists could begin with a populated Mythic collection instead of having to revisit and unlock their completed games again.
Tracking will apparently be built into the achievement interface. Insider Gaming says individual game pages will show progress toward their Mythic, while players will also be able to view their total Mythic count. Xbox profile Gaming-tab headers are reportedly being redesigned to display Gamerscore, total achievements and total Mythics together.
Completed games will receive some extra visual ceremony as well. The report describes decorated artwork in the Gaming tab featuring a green star, laurel and green border. That gives Mythics a visible profile presence beyond their dedicated counter—a key detail if Xbox wants full completion to feel meaningfully different from simply accumulating Gamerscore.
A leak earlier this week introduced Mythic as a new Xbox achievement category, Insider Gaming reports, after which players found its symbol and unlock sound in the Xbox PC app. Microsoft has not officially confirmed the reported specifications or provided a release date, but the latest report says Mythic Achievements are expected soon and could reach Xbox insiders first.
