Developer Drool has announced today that their rhythm game Thumper will be coming to the Xbox One.
The rhythm-violence game puts players in control of a scarab which is moving at high speeds along a track. Players must hit different buttons at the right moment to perform special maneuvers such as attacks, dodges or boosts. Everything in the game is based around hitting the correct buttons at the right moment in time. It’s a very unique game which has collected incredible reviews for each platform the game launched on including VR.
It originally launched last year for PC, PS4 and PSVR. Thumper was later released for the Oculus Rift, Steam VR and more recently the Nintendo Switch.
The post from the developer only states that the game is coming to the Xbox One. The team originally planed to release it on the Xbox 360 when they started work on the project in 2009. “We were late by a console generation” reads the post. But as the developer asks “what’s the big deal?” the game is eventually releasing for the Xbox console.
An image posted with the short blog message reveals that Thumper will be releasing on the 18th later this month. The price of the game has not been revealed yet but the game costs around $20 on each of the digital stores. There is currently no physical release for the game and there’s no word on whether or not the developers are considering this for the future. The Xbox One version of the game will most likely cost around $20 when it’s released but this has not been confirmed yet.
We will report back with more information on the price of Thumper on Xbox One when the developers have confirmed this. Hopefully they will do this within the next couple of weeks before the game is released.
