An upcoming DLC for Nier: Automata is, not surprisingly, adding some weird things. One such addition is a fourth wall break in the form of new bosses, such as Square Enix president and CEO Yosuke Matsuda and Platinum Games president and CEO Kenichi Sato.

Nier: Automata

The DLC, called 3C3C1D119440927, was detailed recently on the PlayStation Blog.

Once you have the DLC, you’ll have access to three new colosseum challenges with their new bosses. The colosseums will be spread across the map at the locations of doors which were previously locked and guarded by robots. When in the fighting arena, players will not be able to use items of any kind, so strategy will be key.

As for the CEO bosses, the game actually warns you the fourth wall is about to broken in advance.

An NPC tells you, “What you’re about to see may end up destroying your sense of immersion. Are you okay with that?” If you’re okay with it, you’ll experience what’s in the video below.

Of course, all this fighting isn’t just for kicks. Completing each colosseum unlocks a different outfit for your favorite androids. 2B gets the “Revealing Outfit,” 9S the “Young Man’s Outfit,” and A2 the “Destroyer Outfit.”

Beyond outfits, you’ll also be rewarded with the following:

  • New equipment and cosmetic accessories such as hairspray that allows you to change the color of 2B and A2’s hair.
  • Masks with unique “on equip” effects.
  • Records that add special music tracks to the players’ jukebox.
  • Special bullets that change the appearance of enemy bullets.

No release date was given for the latest DLC for Nier: Automata, only that it’s coming to PS4 “soon.” We’ll keep you updated with the latest.

Mischa grew up with video games and still has a deep love for many - especially fun, colorful RPGs. Some of her favorites include Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Fantasy Life, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, Civilization V, and Stardew Valley. She loves nights in with her boyfriend cooking Mexican food, watching Studio Ghibli movies, and going head-to-head in their favorite games. Mischa might not beat you in Super Smash Bros, but she owns a replica of Arwen’s sword and Hermione’s wand, so... don’t rub it in too much.
