3D software company MAXON have today announced that they have made a multi-year agreement with NVIDIA. The deal gives MAXON access to NVIDIA’s rendering technology which includes the Quasi-Monte Carlo sampling patent family, NVIDIA Iray and Material Definition Language.
Current users of Cinema 4D will be able to access the plugin Iray, which will give rendering for accurate previews when lighting or designing a scene or altering the scene’s geometry or materials. A free trial is also on offer. Cinema 4D will soon be upgraded to have access to the Iray plugin directly within the application.
More information will be presented by NVIDIA Senior Product Manager Steffen Römer who will showcase the power of the Iray plugin. Details of the presentation and a live stream can be found here.
Philip Miller, senior director of rendering products at NVIDIA had this to say about the collaboration “In bringing our Iray for Cinema 4D plugin to market earlier this year, we’ve come to know the C4D user base and are very impressed by their caliber and enthusiasm for taking their projects to the next level… We are now very pleased to be working directly with MAXON to enable new possibilities for these 3D artists.”
Full details of the plugin can be found on NVIDIA’s website.
