War Thunder has cut the price of the Type 74 Red Star by 30%, bringing the Japanese premium vehicle down to 5,866 Golden Eagles.
The limited-time promotion runs from September 3 at 12:00 GMT until September 7 at 12:00 GMT. The Type 74 Red Star is found under Japan’s Army tree in the Premium vehicles section.
The discount marks the long service history of the tank behind the in-game vehicle. Mitsubishi’s Type 74 main battle tank was adopted by the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force on September 5, 1974.
The Type 74 was never delivered to other countries and remained in service for almost 50 years. It was ultimately withdrawn from service in 2024, closing a run that stretched across five decades.
War Thunder’s announcement does not establish whether the Type 74 Red Star will remain available after the promotion. The confirmed deadline for the discounted 5,866-Golden Eagle price is September 7 at 12:00 GMT.
