It appears Pre-Alpha Battlefront II gameplay footage has been leaked ahead of EA’s E3 events.
The video is currently on YouTube user Mjolnir’s channel, but judging from the intro graphics and voice, it originated from NukemDukem. Whether the footage was stolen or ripped from NUkemDukem’s channel after he accidentally uploaded early is not known. Mjolnir commented on the video “”EVERYONE DOWNLOAD/WATCH BEFORE IT GETS TAKEN DOWN!”
The footage is at 720p60FPS which would suggest a site like KeepVid was used to rip the footage from another channel (the 1080p and higher options require payment).
The video begins with a ‘Sponsored by EA’ graphic and John Williams’ Imperial March theme. Next comes NukemDukem’s logo and his voice, thanking EA for bringing him to the EA Play event for this exclusive footage.
Gameplay
Darth Maul has Spin Attack, Choke Hold, and Furious Throw as cooldowns with Ranged Throw and Strong Arm as two selections below.
NukemDukem plays as Darth Maul, Rey, and Boba Fett, on the Naboo level. The Heroes seem less powerful in the sequel, which should help balance and ease the frustrations of players that aren’t wielding a mighty lightsaber. Maul and Rey were able to jump extremely high, and Rey used a force ability to see enemy positions through walls.
Rey has Dash Strike, Mind Trick, and Insight as her Cooldown powers with Far Sight and Deep Sight as two other selections.
The Heroes are not locked to an era as we see Rey and Boba Fett running around Naboo.
Hopefully EA has plenty more to show from the game at E3, especially the anticipated single-player campaign that was absent from the previous title.
Enjoy E3!
