CI Games has officially released a statement saying that Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 does not currently have multiplayer. The multiplayer is being excluded so that it doesn’t “dilute any potential from the single-player experience”. This move might have been more appreciated by fans if the developer didn’t wait until release day to announce it.

A statement from the developers via GameSpot explains the situation. They explain that this is their “most ambitious game” in the series to date. The team is extremely proud of what they’ve done and want to provide post-launch updates also. According to the statement from CI Games, they didn’t want to subtract from the experience of the single player game . This is why the team have decided to remove multiplayer from the current version of the game.

According to the statement, there will be a multiplayer update coming in the future. This update will be free for all players however it does not have a release date. CI Games state that fans can expect to see it during Q3 of the year. It’s currently uncertain if the multiplayer will be included in the first major expansion or if it will be arriving at a later date.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 has been delayed several times and has been finally released today. The current version of the game is reported to have extensive load times of around five minutes. According to players who are having issues, the day one patch has not improved the situation.

CI Games will most likely be releasing another patch soon to deal with loading screen issues. However, other players are also reporting that the game is filled with bugs despite the game having an Open Beta in the past.

Hopefully the developer will fix these issues over the next few weeks. We’ll provide you with updates on any improvements made to Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3.
