Nintendo has lined up its second Direct of the week for tomorrow, September 9, shifting the spotlight from Zelda to the broader Nintendo Switch 2 winter schedule.
According to Engadget Gaming, the presentation begins at 10 a.m. ET and will be available through YouTube and the Nintendo Today! app. It is expected to run for roughly 45 minutes, with the announced focus placed on Switch 2 games coming this winter.
The broadcast will not be the end of Nintendo’s programming. Engadget reports that a Nintendo Treehouse stream will follow, providing gameplay from some of the titles featured during the Direct. That follow-up is expected to last around 110 minutes—considerably longer than the main presentation and potentially the better venue for extended demonstrations rather than rapid-fire announcements.
Which games will occupy those time slots has not been confirmed. Engadget suggests Nintendo could reach beyond the stated winter window and include releases planned for further into the future, although that is an expectation rather than a confirmed part of the schedule.
There is already plenty of rumor fuel. Engadget cites a leaker it describes as having a decent track record who claims that a new Super Smash Bros. game, Fox McCloud DLC for Mario Kart World, and a Nintendogs revival are in development. None of those projects is confirmed for tomorrow’s Direct, so they are better treated as speculation than as a viewing checklist.
This will be Nintendo’s second presentation this week. The preceding Zelda-focused Direct included a deep dive into the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, according to Engadget. Tomorrow’s broader showcase should instead clarify how Nintendo intends to fill out Switch 2’s winter lineup, before the Treehouse stream gives selected games substantially more room to breathe.
