Atlus Confirms Persona 6 for Switch 2 as Steam Leak Reveals Spoilers

Persona 6 is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, according to DualShockers, which reports that Atlus confirmed the new version during the September 9 Nintendo Direct. The platform announcement gives Nintendo players a clearer path to Atlus’ next mainline Persona game, but it does not come with a release window.

The timing is unusually messy. DualShockers also reports that a Steam achievement-list upload appeared on the same day and exposed Persona 6 character names and story beats that Atlus had not made public. The outlet has declined to reproduce those spoilers, so readers looking to avoid premature plot details are safe here too.

According to the report, the Persona 6 trailer shown during the Direct was almost identical to the game’s initial reveal trailer. That makes the Switch 2 confirmation the presentation’s meaningful addition rather than a broader unveiling of new footage or details.

Atlus had already announced that Persona 6 was in development or otherwise on the way, DualShockers notes. This update therefore isn’t the game’s first reveal; it expands the known platform lineup by confirming Nintendo’s latest hardware will receive a version.

One important scheduling question is still open. DualShockers says Atlus has not announced a release window for Persona 6 on Switch 2, and it is currently unclear whether that edition will arrive alongside the previously announced PC and console versions or follow later. Until Atlus provides dates, “coming to Switch 2” is the full extent of the timing commitment.

For now, the official news is straightforward: Persona 6 has secured a Switch 2 release. The less welcome development is that Steam’s achievement infrastructure has apparently put undisclosed names and narrative information into circulation well before Atlus was ready to discuss them.
