Overwatch keeps on giving, and its latest hero is the buff-heavy tank Orisa. She’s currently playable on the PTR, so her stats are subject to change before hitting the public portion of the game.
Her main weapon is a long-range, gatling-gun of energy that slows her movement when fired. It’s projectile based so will require more elegant aiming when tracking quick-moving targets. It outputs a decent level of damage and can sustain fire for just over 15 seconds before a reload is necessary.
“Orisa launches a graviton charge which she can detonate, slowing nearby enemies and pulling them towards the explosion.”
This could be a potential game-changer with even the simplest co-ordination with one other Ultimate. The ability to group an enemy team together for a McCree, D.Va, or Reaper Ultimate could be an easy team wipe.
Levels with pits could also be too heavily skewed in her favor as evidenced by this GIF.
Her movement isn’t terribly slow but she lacks an escape ability like D.Va’s Rocket Boost. Fortify might be enough to help her survive an assault and get to safety. It could also help getting through heavily guarded choke points while soaking damage for her glass cannon teammates.
A Reinhardt and Orisa trading off barriers is a terrifying prospect. Orisa’s is stationary and lasts for 20 seconds or 900 health. The cooldown begins once launched.
Ultimate – Supercharger
Her ult increases ally damage by 50% as long as they stay within 25 meters of the device. The device can be destroyed fairly quickly as it only has 200 health.
For the completionists, here’s a nice GIF of her full complement.
Orisa’s wide range of abilities should make her terrific fun to play while boosting your allies, and after all, isn’t that what Overwatch is all about?
