During D23, Disney and Square Enix showcased a single piece of promotional art, which later appeared online. The image depicts a character from behind, holding a keyblade in their right hand, resting it across their shoulder.
This first look has sparked speculation among fans. Many viewers noted similarities between the character’s outfit and Helgi from Kingdom Hearts Dark Road. While neither Disney nor Square Enix has confirmed the character’s identity, the image invites fans to start connecting the dots.
Kingdom Hearts has a history of manga adaptations that covered events from games like Kingdom Hearts II and Kingdom Hearts III. However, Kingdom Hearts the Series represents a shift: it is an anime production for Disney’s TV platforms, rather than another print adaptation.
