The new PvP mode in Ghost Recon: Wildlands is launching soon and to celebrate this, Ubisoft has announced a free weekend.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands will be free to play for this entire weekend and is separate to the five-hour trial the game has. As a bonus, this free weekend will extend to cover PC, Xbox One and Ps4 versions of the game.

The free weekend event will begin on October 12th which is this Thursday. The game will then be playable for free until Sunday the 15th. The event also allows everyone to try out the new Ghost War PvP mode which releases tomorrow on October 10th.

For those who don’t know what this mode is, it’s a 4v4 team-based mode which is a best-of-three with 10-minute rounds. There are eight maps for the mode at launch which all come with their own environmental effects and hazards. Such as dust storms that can make it more difficult to spot the enemy team allowing them to sneak up on your position.

There will also be 12 classes at launch. Here’s the full list of classes in Ghost War at launch:

  • Ranger
  • Assassin
  • Diversionist
  • Medic
  • Sentinel
  • Tech
  • Pointman
  • Sniper
  • Scout
  • Enforcer
  • Artillery
  • Tank

New classes and more content will be coming to the Ghost War mode in the future. Ubisoft has promised that it will see regular updates. However, we don’t know how often the gamemode will be updated.

To match the free weekend event, Ubisoft has marked down the price of Ghost Recon: Wildlands. There will be a 50% discount on the game on all versions of the game. In addition to this, all progress made in the game will be carried forwards to the full game if you purchase it. As a bonus, anyone on PC can now begin pre-loading Ghost Recon: Wildlands on Uplay right now.
