Bungie has officially announced that Destiny 2 is coming. The developer hasn’t revealed any details about the upcoming game yet though.
The developer confirmed via Twitter with a single image post. The image shows the Earth’s Last City in ruins. It’s uncertain if this is due to an attack or natural disaster. Hopefully Bungie will explain more about this in detail later this year.
This announcement isn’t too surprising as Activision did confirm that the game would be released this year in the Fall. The announcement has come shortly after a poster leak which states the game will be released this September. The poster also confirms that a beta for Destiny 2 will be coming at some point. It’s currently uncertain when this beta will take place and what platforms it will be for. The leaked poster has a classic blue from the PlayStation logo and while that section of the poster is hidden from the camera, it could suggest that the beta will be launched for that platform first.
This news also comes one day before the final Destiny live event begins. The Age of Triumph will be launching tomorrow and the patch notes will be coming then. Bungie did however release some information in the above trailer and in the weekly blog post. Bungie has already confirmed that this will be the final live event for Destiny and that their focus is now on the next game.
There has been no official news just yet about the setting of Destiny 2 and there is some speculation that the game could be released for PC. More news and information about Destiny 2 will be released later this year across different press events. We will provide you with updates as the developer releases more details about the sequel to Destiny.
