A 90s Kid

The Resident Evil team have just revealed that they have no plans to port the series to the Nintendo Switch.

Producer Masachika Kawata explained the teams position in an interview with Express Online. He stated that they have “no plans at the moment regarding Resident Evil on Switch” which is bad news for survival horror fans.

Despite this new development, he stated that the Nintendo Switch is a “very unique piece of hardware”.

While this isn’t too surprising for some fans, Capcom did previously announce that they were creating games for the platform. It’s still uncertain which Capcom games will be coming to the Nintendo Switch.

There may be Resident Evil ports in the future if the Nintendo Switch sells well. The upcoming console will be released later this year in March.

Resident Evil 7 is due for release next week on January 24th. The game was recently confirmed to be included in the Xbox Play Anywhere program for Xbox One and Windows PC. It will also be released for the PlayStation 4.
