Microsoft has been very kind to their gamer base when it comes to pro and custom controllers. They’ve just announced three more beautiful wireless pads to suit a wide range of tastes. The wireless adapter has also seen a nice update, losing a bit of size in the process.

Volcano Shadow Special Edition

Would look great next to a lava lamp. Featuring “fiery red metallic finish” and a “textured grip”, this baby could set the mood during late night sessions.

Oh yeh baby look at those sweet little bumps! This sweet thang won’t be slipping out of your hands anytime soon.

Available for pre-order at $69.99 USD, will ship August 3rd.

Green/Grey Wireless

For the Xbox fan wanting to rep the classic green. The grey is as sleek as the future and the green accents are subtle.

It’s $5 cheaper at just $64.99 USD and also ships August 3rd.

Patrol Tech Special Edition

“Inspired by military technology and performance patterns found in airborne navy patrol units. Premium finishes like a laser etched texture, silver accents and insignia are on the front of the controller. The back of the controller features our fan-favorite rubberized diamong grip for added control and comfort”

If you ever need to hide your controller in a VR wire-frame simulation this is the choice for you!

I’m not a fan of the wiz-bang cosmetics but I’m happy Microsoft continues to provide a variety of choice.

Will ship Sept. 5th.

The new Wireless adapter is 66% smaller

That may not seem like a big deal but those that cram many USB connections into their tower know a fat dongle can get in the way.

It also transmits wireless stereo sound and can connect up to 8 controllers simultaneously.

It will retail for $24.99 USD alone or you can bundle it with the Xbox Wireless Controller for $79.99 USD.

Features!

All three controllers feature custom button-mapping, the texturized grip, and improved wireless range.

Since using an Xbox One controller with my PC, I would definitely rank it the most comfortable. I love the personalized designs and mappable buttons and wish Sony would offer some more fun options soon.

What do you think?

Mathew Falvai

Mathew is a huge fan of Space, Strategy, and Shadowrun (Genesis version is #1). When it comes to games and films, he’d much rather experience a 10/10 classic from yesteryear than a 6/10 modern blandfest. He does feel we’re living in a gaming golden age with the power of indie developers at an all-time high, but wishes AAA publishers would take more risks. Mat believes it’s only a matter of time before the pendulum swings the other way and new ideas take their rightful place above reboots.
