Deck 13, the developer of The Surge has just announced that the action-RPG will be getting a demo. The demo will be arriving some time next week. However, the developers haven’t confirmed exactly when it will be releasing.

We currently have no details on this demo. The developer is expected to announce the length and what it contains very soon. We do know that it will support the PS4 Pro with several benefits. The game will feature HDR, dynamic 4k resolution and 60FPS in 1080p. The announcement for this was made on Twitter yesterday.

Before then the developer tweeted a short video to announce the demo on Twitter. The trailer confirms that the demo will be releasing for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The video was posted with a short statement to hype the game a little “Can you survive The Surge’s demo?”. Clearly then the demo will be just as difficult as the actual game is. However, the developer hasn’t provided any hints about what portion of the game will be playable. It’s thought that the opening minutes of the game will be featured in the demo as that’s what most games do. This has not been confirmed and is just speculation right now.

Deck 13 hasn’t released any news about whether or not they will be supporting the Xbox One X when it will be released later this year. We’ll update you with this information once it becomes available later this year.

We currently don’t know any other details about the demo for The Surge but we’ll provide you with updates as we learn more over the coming week.

You can read our review of The Surge here where we rated the game 7.25/10. Since then, the game has been updated and several bugs present at launch are no longer in the game.
