Splatfest

Splatfest

Breakfast is widely considered the most important meal of the day, and people have a lot of thoughts about it. If you’re a European Splatoon 2 player, you’ll have a chance to fight for those thoughts pretty soon, as Nintendo of Europe has announced the theme for the next Splatfest — warm breakfast vs. cold breakfast.

Do you prefer a warm breakfast like eggs, bacon, and toast, or a cold breakfast with foods like cereal and fruit? Choose wisely, because your answer determines your team for Splatoon 2‘s upcoming online competitive event. The new European Splatfest kicks off next Saturday, November 4th, at 4 p.m. CET. The event will run for 24 hours before the results are tallied.

Europe’s last Splatfest theme left… something to be desired. Nintendo tasked players with choosing how they hang their roll of toilet paper — with the end of the roll facing frontwards or backwards. European players were a little jealous of the North American theme, which pitted Team Vampire against Team Werewolf in a Halloween-themed Splatfest.

So far only Europe’s Splatfest theme and date have been revealed, but we should hear from Nintendo of America and Japan for their respective details soon. They will likely take place on separate weekends with different topics for the teams, but there have been theme overlaps in different regions before.

To align yourself with your breakfast preference in Splatoon 2, head to the Splatfest video screen in Inkopolis Square as soon as it appears in-game. Be sure to pop on your Splatfest tee and unlock its abilities so you have a leg up when the competition begins on November 4th.

Stay tuned to A9K for more Splatoon 2 news, and tell us below which side you’re on this time! Team Warm or Team Cold?

Mischa McGill

Mischa grew up with video games and still has a deep love for many - especially fun, colorful RPGs. Some of her favorites include Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Fantasy Life, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, Civilization V, and Stardew Valley. She loves nights in with her boyfriend cooking Mexican food, watching Studio Ghibli movies, and going head-to-head in their favorite games. Mischa might not beat you in Super Smash Bros, but she owns a replica of Arwen’s sword and Hermione’s wand, so... don’t rub it in too much.
