The Best Speedruns of SGDQ 2023 Day 6
Amnesia: Rebirth (Any%) by bloodthunder
Although the horror games block took place on day 4, runner bloodthunder brought the spooky vibes on SGDQ 2023 day 6 with a great speedrun of Amnesia: Rebirth. This first-person horror adventure usually involves lurking through creepy, atmospheric environments, but bloodthunder opted for a quicker route. Through the use of numerous glitches, including wall clips and prop flying, most of this speedrun is spent out-of-bounds, bypassing huge portions of the game by breaking out of the map. Bloodthunder also does a great job explaining the game’s twisting and complex narrative, properly setting the stage for the upcoming sequel, Amnesia: The Bunker.

Playing on Expert difficulty, runner dagronSR had a hell of a run, pulling off tricky wall clips, optimized movement tech, and clean quick-kills on bosses. It also helps that Shinobi 3 is peak Sega Genesis, with eye-pleasing pixel art, banger music, and even a surfing level. Star Wars: Dark Forces (Easy, TFE) by CovertMuffin
With his infectiously cheerful attitude and excellent explanations of tricks, CovertMuffin provided one of the best speedruns of SGDQ 2023 day 6 when he played Dark Forces. This retro, first-person Star Wars shooter, which is often compared to DOOM, is about as fast-paced as they come. Sliding past Storm Troopers and punching many foes in the bum, CovertMuffin tore up Dark Forces while keeping things lighthearted and informative. Showing us all the best use for thermal detonators, the Dark Forces speedrun was a fun afternoon watch at SGDQ 2023 day 6.

Kaizo Monkey Ball (Story Mode) by IkeSMB
Anyone who has played it will undoubtedly agree that the Monkey Ball series is incredibly tough, despite its cheery personality. Unsatisfied with the challenge presented by the existing games in the series, fans have created Kaizo Monkey Ball, a game full of user-created levels that are infinitely more difficult than the base games. With massive speed and skill, runner IkeSMB sped through this impossibly hard fangame, proving that the Monkey Ball community is as skillful as they are masochistic. If you want fast gameplay and unbelievably clench-worthy tricks, check out this amazing speedrun from SGDQ 2023 day 6!
