Third party controller maker 8Bitdo has just announced that they will be creating controllers for the Nintendo Switch. These two controllers are being designed to replicate classic retro controllers of the past. In addition to this, the company is also working on some speakers for the Switch.
SNES Controller
This replica controller is designed to replace the Switch Pro Controller, not the Joy-Cons. However, this controller does come with an array of new features to give it a modern twist. The SNES30 Pro features Bluetooth, a USB-C port, motion controls and rumble vibration. In addition to this, it comes with player indicator LEDs.
While the SNES version will be enough to keep most people happy, there’s also a Super Famicom-style model in the works. This model is designed to look like a Japanese Super Famicon controller.
Both controllers will also work with a PC and mobile devices. They should be releasing sometime this Holiday however, there is no release date just yet.
Arcade Stick
Fighting game lovers will be pleased to hear about this one. The NES30 Arcade Stick has been designed to replicate the NES stick and will work as a replacement controller for most games. However, it’s best suited to the various fighting games already available for the Nintendo Switch.
This arcade stick works with the Switch and the PC only.
Speakers
The last Switch item on their list of newly announced items is the Twin Cube Stereo Speakers. These wireless speakers also feature an AUX input. Details on these are quite limited however.
They will be releasing this Fall alongside the NES30 Arcade Stick. There is currently no release date for either of these products but they should be coming this Fall.
While players wait for these new Switch products, 8Bitdo has updated their firmware. This update allows all of their controllers to work with the Nintendo Switch however, they may not work perfectly. This should be enough to tide most players over while they wait.
Will you be getting any of these products later this year?
