It’s been announced that Pokken Tournament DX will be getting a free demo on the Nintendo Switch.
The announcement was made on Twitter late last week by the official Pokemon account. It states that a “downloadable demo” is “coming soon to the Nintendo eShop”. There’s no news yet on when this demo will be launching and what the demo will include. It will most likely provide access to certain Pokemon and It’s unknown if the demo will be multiplayer only or PvE.
Pokken Tournament DX is the Nintendo Switch edition of Pokken Tournament which was originally released for the Wii U. It features all 16 playable Pokemon from the original game in addition to five new ones. The new Pokemon are: Darkrai, Scizor, Empoleon, Croagunk and Decidueye.
While the Nintendo Switch online features are currently free, they will require a paid membership in the future. The online features will require access to the Switch’s online service which is coming in 2018. We still don’t know all the details on the system that Nintendo is planning to implement. For now, online modes in various Switch games such as Arms and Splatoon 2 are currently free for everyone. This however will be changing next year.
The full game will be releasing on September 22nd as a Nintendo Switch exclusive so the developers don’t have long to publish the demo before its full release.
We’ll update you once we know more about this upcoming demo.
