Nintendo is offering their home country’s My Nintendo customers a special treat with their Switch purchase: custom-colored Joy-Con controllers.

Now, don’t get too upset if you don’t live in Japan. They’re not getting any crazy new colors or patterns–yet. But, according to the Nintendo Topics blog, Japanese buyers do get to choose between three different colors for Joy-Con controllers and four different colors for the straps, as seen below.

This means Japanese My Nintendo customers can change which side the red and blue controllers are on or–my personal favorite–make both sides the same color. Doesn’t that uniform blue Switch just look so pleasant? The red and blue mixed hurt my brain a little.

In other regions, the Switch Joy-Cons come in two color options: all-gray and neon-blue-and-red. All the differently colored parts will be available to purchase separately, but I do wish Westerners could snag their personal color preferences right off the bat.

However, if you can get a Japanese My Nintendo account and order a Japanese Switch, these color options could be yours without extra purchases! And the Switch is region-free, so you’d be able to play any game on your custom Japanese console.

This isn’t the first time Nintendo has offered console customization options exclusively to Japanese customers. The most recent example is the New 3DS, which is only available in Japan. This console is smaller than the New 3DS XL and comes with changeable face plates.

Western customers can purchase some exclusive New 3DS’s, such as the Animal Crossing one above, but other face plates have to be imported from Japan. Bleh.

I get Nintendo offering special options only to Japan; it’s their home. It’s fun to give their country’s customers unique products, but we Westerners are dying here. Give us something we can customize! STAT!

Mischa grew up with video games and still has a deep love for many - especially fun, colorful RPGs. Some of her favorites include Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Fantasy Life, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, Civilization V, and Stardew Valley. She loves nights in with her boyfriend cooking Mexican food, watching Studio Ghibli movies, and going head-to-head in their favorite games. Mischa might not beat you in Super Smash Bros, but she owns a replica of Arwen’s sword and Hermione’s wand, so... don’t rub it in too much.
