Slash-tastic indie oddity Furi heads up a solid month of free games on PlayStation Plus.

playstation plus

It’s almost the turn of the month, and you know what that means: it’s time for some free games from Sony and Microsoft. Sony’s lineup for PlayStation Plus members is actually looking really solid this month. We don’t have quite the AAA offering that we enjoyed in June, but we do have Furi! Furi is an indie, boss-rush action game from The Game Bakers. It’s one of those easy-to-learn, hard-to-master joints that’ll have you glued to the screen as you try “just one more time” to take down the next boss. Controls are simple: you slash, dodge, and parry, but various power-ups and charging abilities shake things up as you evade attacks and slash up your foes with style. The game has an incredible soundtrack, by the way.

Also free this month is Saints Row: Gat out of Hell, which you can take or leave. I have heard it has some performance issues on the PS4, but if you can make it through without bricking your console you should be in for at least 10 hours of chaotic sandbox action. PS Plus subscribers will also be granted early access to Epic’s new MOBA Paragon, as well as a founders pack valued at $40 USD. Pretty sweet.

Here’s the full lineup:

  • Furi, PS4
  • Saints Row: Gat out of Hell, PS4
  • Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, PS3
  • Fat Princess, PS3
  • Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines, PS Vita
  • Prince of Persia: Revelation, PS Vita

What do you guys think? Furi will definitely be the star of the show here, but if you have a Vita then I hear Oreshika is definitely worth checking out as well. Plus, who can turn down Fat Princess? We’ll take it, Sony. We’ll take it.
