The Evolution 2017 Championship Series lineup has just been confirmed.

The original trailer for the biggest fighting game tournament was released last year but the games have just been confirmed. This year, the tournament organizers are doing something slightly different.

Only eight games have been confirmed to be in the main tournament so far. However, just like every year, there will be nine main games featured at the tournament.

For the first time ever, the final game will be decided by the fans. The tournament organizers have decided to let the public vote on the final game though a charity fundraiser on Indiegogo. To vote on which game they’d like to see, people need to donate on their game of choice. The list includes games such as Killer Instinct, Mortal Combat XL and the upcoming Nintendo Switch game Arms.

Some fighting game fans will be disappointed with the confirmed games lineup which does not include Mortal Kombat, Pokken Tournament and Killer Instinct. All of these games are currently up for public vote however.

Evo 2017 Confirmed Games

  • Street Fighter V
  • Guilty Gear Xrd Rev2
  • Super Smash Bros. Wii U
  • Super Smash Bros. Melee
  • Injustice 2
  • BlazBlue: Central Fiction
  • Tekken 7
  • King of Fighter’s XIV

The games were confirmed at the Evo 2017 Announcement Show and were also posted on the official Twitter feed.

While many of the games this year are new, there are a number of familiar titles in the race to join the lineup. There are nine games currently fighting for the final spot. Gamers can vote for their favorite game by donating for that game through the charity fundraiser on Indiegogo. The game that raises the most money will become the ninth main game. However, the finishing date of this public vote hasn’t been revealed yet.
