Darksiders III has been officially announced by THQ Nordic after the leak which came earlier yesterday. The announcement confirms all of the leaked details from yesterday and reveals some new information.
The new game takes place on an apocalyptic Earth. The planet has been overrun by the Seven Deadly Sins and their followers. In response to this, the Charred Council has called upon Fury to fix the damage. She must fight to save humanity while also proving that she is the most powerful of the Four Horseman.
The official website introduces the first Seven Deadly Sin. Sloth is the first one who takes the form of a giant bed-ridden insect-like creature. The website states that more news on the other Deadly Sins will be coming in the future. However, it doesn’t provide a release date or period.
Players will be controlling Fury, the rider of the Black Horse. She is the more unpredictable of the Horsemen and is a mage. Fury relies on her magic and her powerful whip. However, the website also states that she has various forms, access to a variety of weapons, unique moves and traversal abilities. Details on these moves are not yet available but should be coming soon.
Earth will be an open world area however, Fury is able to travel between environments. This has not been explained yet so it’s uncertain what the publisher means by this.
Darksiders III is being developed by Gunfire Games and will be published by THQ Nordic. The game has been slated for a 2018 release date. The Amazon pre-order page confirms that Darksiders III will be available for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. There is no word of a Nintendo Switch version however.
We will continue to provide you with updates on the latest Darksiders III news throughout the year.
