We know a fair bit about Assassin’s Creed: Origins from both pre-reveal leaks and E3 coverage, including its Egyptian setting, tomb raiding, and its heavy RPG elements. We now know more details of the upcoming Ubisoft title thanks to game director Ashraf Ismail’s recent Twitter activity.
Fans are filled to the brim with questions about Assasin’s Creed: Origins, and Ismail gave some interesting answers to a few of them. While we already knew there would be some sort of animal-taming feature in Origins, it’s now confirmed to be its own “ability” in the game.
There is an ability for it, yes

The E3 footage of Assassin’s Creed: Origins showed the main character Bayek going all Bran Stark on his eagle Senu — looking through the bird’s eyes, controlling his movement, scouting the area, the whole nine.
Transport animals like horses and camels can be ridden, stored in stables, and even pull player-drive chariots. Knowing we can tame other wild animals, it’s exciting to think about the various abilities to be gained throughout the game. Maybe you can also tame a lion to fight big groups of enemies or a crocodile to rule the Nile River. The mechanics brought about from these creatures could be endless.
Hopefully Origins will offer a wide variety of animals to tame and experiment with, especially if there is a legitimate “ability” that can be leveled up with additional features and perks throughout the game.
Another fun detail Ismail revealed is Bayek’s level cap. When a fan asked on Twitter, the game director stated the highest level you can reach is 40. Of course, we don’t know how quickly you earn experience or what exactly what you gain from leveling up, but it’s still nice to know a number.
Assassin’s Creed: Origins releases on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on October 27th of this year.
