The ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X20 debuted with two planned purchase options, but a crucial part of the pitch remained unclear: what the handheld would cost on its own.

As Techpowerup reported, ASUS first revealed the device at Computex 2026. The company said it would be sold both as a standalone handheld and in a bundle with Xreal R1 Edition 20 AR glasses.
That gives prospective buyers a straightforward choice in principle. Anyone interested in the augmented-reality setup can opt for the package, while players who only want the handheld will have a separate route.
The missing commercial details make that choice harder to evaluate, however.
Standalone pricing is the big question
At the time of the initial reveal, pricing and other details for the standalone model remained somewhat nebulous. Without a confirmed price, prospective buyers do not yet have a complete picture of how the handheld-only option fits alongside the glasses bundle.
