Playtonic Games has confirmed that their upcoming 3D platform game will include multiplayer. Today’s announcement finally confirms what players have been wondering about for months.
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VK2eCZYvlY]The PvP multiplayer modes are hosted by Rextro the T-Rex. Today’s reveal has shown that the game will have at least eight different modes at launch. Only a few details were released for these modes but it looks as though up to four players can play at once.
Here are the confirmed gamemodes so far:
- Glaciators
- Kartos Karting
- Blag the Flag
- Gun-let Gun
- Jobstacle Course
- Hurdle Hijinx
Multiplayer in the game will be local based and there’s been no news about online play yet. In addition to the PvP multiplayer modes, players can work together in a co-op version of the main story. However, the co-op only works with two players and the second player will only be able to pick up collectibles.
Yooka-Laylee is due for release on April 11th for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. A version for the Nintendo Switch has not been announced yet.
