Games with Gold

It’s almost time to expand your game library with a few new free titles from Xbox’s Games with Gold for the month of August. There’s a little something for everyone this month, from a life sim coming out of Early Access to a critically acclaimed action game.

Check out the full list of August’s Games with Gold and their dates below:

  • Slime Rancher: Aug 1st- 31st (X1)
  • Trials Fusion: Aug 16th- Sep 15th (X1)
  • Bayonetta: Aug 1st- 15th (X1/360)
  • Red Faction: Armageddon: Aug 16th- 31st (X1/360)

On August 1st, open-world farming/ life simulator Slime Rancher will be coming out of Early Access for its full launch, and it’ll be free on Xbox One the whole month. Care for your own galactic farm full of slimy creatures where each day is filled with new challenges and possibly… feral slimes?

The other Xbox One title will be Trials Fusion, the platform racer with a top-notch physics system. Get ready to try pulling off crazy jumps and tricks — over and over again — when this game goes free with Xbox Live Gold for the last half of August and into September.

As always, two games will be available on Xbox 360 and Xbox One through backwards compatibility. The acclaimed stylish action game Bayonetta will be offered up August 1st- August 15th, while third-person shooter Red Faction: Armageddon will be free the 16th- 31st.

Don’t forget the colorful platform racing game Runbow is still available from July’s Games with Gold until August 15th, so give it a look if you haven’t yet.

As always, you must be a member of Xbox Live Gold to download these games free of charge for a limited time.

Mischa McGill

Mischa grew up with video games and still has a deep love for many - especially fun, colorful RPGs. Some of her favorites include Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Fantasy Life, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, Civilization V, and Stardew Valley. She loves nights in with her boyfriend cooking Mexican food, watching Studio Ghibli movies, and going head-to-head in their favorite games. Mischa might not beat you in Super Smash Bros, but she owns a replica of Arwen’s sword and Hermione’s wand, so... don’t rub it in too much.
