Emulator developer Will Faust has shown Mario Kart World running on macOS and an iPhone 18 Pro in recent X posts, according to Wccftech, as relayed by Insider Gaming. The two demonstrations reportedly produced notably different visual results.
The macOS video showed the game rendered in a limited yellow-and-black palette, with apparent asset-loading problems. The iPhone 18 Pro demonstration displayed correct colors, though it had some stuttering at the beginning. That makes the phone’s rendering the more encouraging result on paper, rather than evidence that both versions are running cleanly.
Faust said he used an nxnative fork to run the game and that he owns Mario Kart World, having dumped his copy using the FS exploit. He also described physical memory usage as fairly low, attributing that to userspace file-backed memory. That is his technical explanation, not a published memory benchmark.
The demonstrations follow the discovery of a Nintendo Switch 2 jailbreak exploit a couple of days before the report. The reporting describes that exploit as allowing modders to run homebrew, reverse engineer and modify Switch 2 games—useful context for why experimentation around the system is drawing attention.
For anyone hoping to try Faust’s work, the practical catch is his stated release policy: he will not release the project’s code. These posts are a look at his private development work, not an announcement of a public release.
