Ubisoft has officially revealed the second new operator who is arriving with the Operation Velvet Shell update this month.

The new trailer confirms that her name is Mira and her ability is similar to an operator already in the game. She’s able to blow a hole in reinforced walls. Unlike Thermite however, she can only blow a small hole through the wall. This makes her quite different to Thermite who can destroy the entire section of wall.

While the new trailer teases this new operator, it doesn’t go into detail about her ability. Ubisoft is expected to reveal the full details this weekend during the Six International tournament.

The Six International tournament takes place between February 3rd – 5th. Ubisoft will be revealing the new Velvet Shell expansion during the tournament.

Velvet Shell is the first expansion from the Year Two of content for Rainbow Six Siege. Those with the Year Two Season Pass will get to access the new operators several days early and will be given them for free. Players without the Year Two season pass will need to unlock the new operators using renown which is earned by playing matches.

The first new operator was announced earlier this week as Jackal. He uses a visor that allows him to see the footprints of enemy players and track them through the map. Ubisoft hasn’t released any other details about him besides this.

The update also includes a new map which is set in Ibiza.

In other Rainbow Six Siege news, the game is having a free weekend. Anyone on PC, Xbox One and PS4 can install and test the game until next week. The free weekend will end on the 5th for PC players and on the 6th for console owners.

In addition to this, the game is currently discounted at 50% and all progress will carry over to the full game.
