Festive skins and sprays for everyone!

Overwatch olympics

Blizzard is celebrating the Olympic games by offering some sweet loot in Overwatch. Actually, Blizzard is offering loads of sweet loot. From now until the conclusion of the Summer Games, all loot boxes will contain at least one, unique, Summer-Games-themed item. It could be a skin, spray, emote, victory pose, highlight intro, or player icon. In all there are over 100 cosmetic items up for grabs, so you can pretty much forget about collecting all of them unless you want to spend a lot of money or play way too much Overwatch.

In addition to the cosmetic items, a new brawl mode has been added as well. It’s called Lucioball, and it’s pretty much Rocket League with Lucios. Two teams of Lucio BallLucios will go head to head using their melee attacks, sound blasters, speed boosts, and wall runs to try to knock a ball into their opponent’s goal. A few of Lucio’s abilities have been tweaked for this game mode. His primary fire is now a simple melee. Speed boost only affects the player who triggers it, and will not buff nearby teammates. Lucio’s ultimate no longer spawns a shield – instead it affects a magnetic pull on the game ball, so I’m sure things get wild when multiple Lucios pop their ultimates.

This is Overwatch‘s first seasonal event, but Blizzard promises it won’t be the last. More on that soon, but in the meantime get out there and level up so you can snag some of these fancy loot boxes. Blizzard created a fantastic trailer to initiate their celebration, which you can view right here:
