Warwick Davis (Wicket the Ewok, Prof. Flitwick) has started working with games developer/publisher Keystone games. Davis claims the relationship “ticks all the boxes to a long and productive partnership”.

Davis will be lending his voice to upcoming Keystone projects, the first announced is Homicide Detective, scheduled for Q4 2017. It’s a “first person 3D open world investigative epic which has full support of law enforcement and military special forces operators to ensure the utmost realism, in the first ever partnership between actual murder squad detectives and video game developers!”

Davis issued a statement regarding the partnership.

“I am delighted to be working with Keystone Games. Not only was I drawn to them because of their credentials as a world class games developer and publisher but because of their ethos of utilising profits to support philanthropic causes and supporting the needs of disabled and underprivileged children. They are also an equal opportunities employer with many disabled people on their staff. For me, Keystone ticks all the boxes and I look forward to a long and productive partnership”

Who is Keystone Games?

The company was founded in September 2015 and its main game output has been four expansions for Microsoft Flight Simulator X:Steam Edition: Treasure Hunt, Cargo Crew, Discover Australia & New Zealand, and Arctic Rescue.

Homicide Detective

This looks quite early in development as their page only has concept art at this time. Usually voice actors are bought in later in the development cycle so perhaps the project is further along than the limited information suggests.

Here’s the pitch:

“A man lies dead in the street, a needle protruding from his neck – the first in a series of murders from a killer that spreads his dark tentacles of death around the world.”

Getting back to his Star Wars roots, it was announced at the Orlando Star Wars Celebration that Davi will be voicing Grand Admiral Thrawn’s bodyguard Rukh in the fourth season of Star Wars Rebels.

Mathew Falvai

Mathew is a huge fan of Space, Strategy, and Shadowrun (Genesis version is #1). When it comes to games and films, he’d much rather experience a 10/10 classic from yesteryear than a 6/10 modern blandfest. He does feel we’re living in a gaming golden age with the power of indie developers at an all-time high, but wishes AAA publishers would take more risks. Mat believes it’s only a matter of time before the pendulum swings the other way and new ideas take their rightful place above reboots.
