Nintendo Switch 2’s confirmed 2026 lineup runs from football and co-op adventures to major RPGs, remakes, and third-party releases. Here are the dated games and longer-term projects listed in IGN’s updated Nintendo Switch 2 release-date roundup, with titles from studios including FrozenByte, Mojang, and IO Interactive.
1. August Opens With Football and Elden Ring
Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters arrives on August 27. The football game includes 22 national teams and more than 110 playable characters, alongside a single-player campaign and online multiplayer modes.
One day later, Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition brings FromSoftware’s action RPG to Switch 2. The edition adds two starting classes and new armor sets. Existing owners on PC and other consoles will also receive that armor content as an upgrade.
Orbitals follows on September 3 as a Switch 2 exclusive. The intergalactic adventure focuses on co-op play and uses a retro-anime visual style.
2. September Builds a Strong Co-Op and RPG Run
NBA 2K27 launches on September 4 for Switch 2 alongside its PC and other console versions. The Standard, Ultra, and Deluxe editions feature different cover athletes, including Caitlin Clark on the Deluxe edition.
RuneScape: Dragonwilds arrives on September 15. It shifts the long-running RuneScape setting toward open-world crafting and survival.
On September 17, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave launches as a Switch 2 exclusive. Fighters from across the land travel to Dagsion, the capital of the Dagdan Empire, to compete in the Heroic Games for the chance to win one wish. Four combatants are tied to the fate of the world.
That same day brings Trine 6: Together in Time, a side-scrolling platformer from FrozenByte designed around co-op movement combinations and puzzles. Another Eden Begins also arrives, with a story from Chrono Trigger writer Masato Kato. Players travel across the past, present, and future, recruit from 18 companions, battle the Beast King, and pursue 10 possible endings.
3. September and October Add Batman, Bond, and Remakes
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight arrives on September 18. It parodies Batman stories from across the character’s history and includes a large playable version of Arkham. Its combat takes inspiration from the Arkham games, with development support from Rocksteady Studios.
SEGA’s SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance follows on September 24. The 2D action platformer originally launched in 2025 and receives its Switch 2 port later in the year.
Minecraft Dungeons II launches on September 29. Mojang developed the sequel, Xbox publishes it, and the block-based dungeon crawler supports local and online multiplayer.
IO Interactive’s 007 First Light arrives on September 30. The story follows Bond’s initial recruitment and rise through the MI6 ranks, with Patrick Gibson playing Bond and Lenny Kravitz portraying the villain Bawma.
October 1 brings Switch 2 editions of Octopath Traveler I & II, the games associated with the modern HD-2D style. Rayman Legends Retold launches on the same day as a 3D reimagining of the 2013 platformer.
Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] follows on October 8. The three collections will be available separately or as one bundle, replacing the cloud-streaming versions released on the original Switch.
Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen arrives October 9 with fresh content and quality-of-life improvements. The Witch’s Bakery follows on October 14, putting players in control of Lunne, a young witch opening a bakery in Paris. Each in-game day combines bakery management, town exploration, and magic-assisted activities with friends.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse launches October 15. Its combat offers different approaches through a range of weapons, Arcana, and relics. Tales of Eternia Remastered arrives October 16, returning the RPG to its original title after its North American release as Tales of Destiny II.
4. October 22 Brings Sports, HD-2D, and Anime Adaptations
Nintendo Switch Sports: Resort arrives October 22 as a Switch 2 exclusive. It includes 12 sports, combining returning activities such as bowling and tennis with new options such as thumb wrestling. The game uses the console’s motion and mouse controls.
Final Fantasy Resonance also launches on October 22. The game adapts the discontinued mobile title Brave Exvius and uses the HD-2D visual approach associated with Octopath Traveler.
One Piece: Grand Gourmet follows on October 23. Its restaurant-management loop sends players on expeditions to gather ingredients and recipes while they encounter more than 400 characters from the One Piece universe.

October 29 adds two more genre-specific releases. Hello Kitty Party Land features more than 40 minigames and over 140 Sanrio characters, while Steins;Gate Re:Boot remakes the 2009 visual novel with new endings.
5. November and December Close the Dated Calendar
Atlus’ Metaphor Re:Fantazio reaches Switch 2 on November 12. The RPG combines turn-based combat with social-link-style systems and follows Will, a young man seeking justice in a fantasy world facing its first version of an election.
Barbie Rewind also launches November 12. The collection includes 16 classic Barbie games originally released between 1991 and 2007, plus the previously unreleased Barbie: Vacation Adventure.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition closes the currently dated portion of the calendar on December 3. Existing owners can also purchase the port as a digital upgrade pack. The release comes ahead of Xenoblade Genesis, which is listed for 2027.
Games Still Planned for 2026 and Beyond
Several Switch 2 games have windows but no firm day. Turok Origins is planned for fall 2026, while the following titles are listed for 2026.
